Sugar Camp Canine
About SCCWelcome to Sugar Camp Canine where dog breeding is more than a hobby, it's a family passion! Owned and operated by sisters Jade and Kaleah (along with spouses Shawn and David) , SCC is part of the fabric of who we are. Having been a horse trainer/riding instructor on our beautiful ranch in N. Florida for many years and holding a degree in Veterinary Medical Sciences from St. Petersburg College, Kaleah has always had a love for dogs and their innate abilities to perform breed given jobs, work hand-in-hand with their owners and provide loving companionship. Our collective experience with dog breeding began in 2005 when we bred our first litter of Great Pyrenees puppies. We enjoyed watching this special breed instinctively do what they were bred to do. At that time it was guarding our alpacas. However, over the years as each of our families have grown, we have moved our program towards the production of great family companions who are brilliant, have fewer allergy triggers and make excellent service dog candidates. Kaleah is now married to David and raising 4 rambunctious kiddos along with each litter of puppies, while Jade is happily married to Shawn and they are busy rearing 6 children of their own. Each litter is part of our family. They are home raised and well loved by each family member before heading out to their FURever families. |
Why Choose Us for Your Next Canine Companion?
Here at SCC we have made a commitment to raising well-rounded, healthy puppies that will thrive in their new homes. This approach not only sets us apart but shows that we care deeply about the long-term well-being of both the puppies and the families who adopt them. Some of the ways we labor to ensure your happiness with your puppy is:
1. Early Potty Training: We start potty training early, which means your new puppy will already have a head start on good habits. By the time they go to their forever home, they’ll have a basic understanding of where to go, making the transition smoother for both you and your pup.
2. Family-Raised: All of our puppies are raised in a loving family environment. They are well-socialized, accustomed to household noises, and get plenty of human interaction. This helps ensure they grow into well-adjusted, happy dogs that will thrive in your home.
3. Crate Training: We introduce crate training early, helping your puppy develop a sense of comfort and safety in their crate. This not only aids with housetraining but also helps with their adjustment to their new home.
4. Genetically Health Tested Parents: SCC prioritizes the health and well-being of our puppies by breeding only from parents who have passed comprehensive genetic health testing. This helps minimize the risk of hereditary health issues and ensures that the puppies have the best chance at a long, healthy life. Health warranties are offered on all of our puppies as written in our purchase agreement.
5. Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS): We incorporate ENS into our breeding program. This scientifically backed method involves gentle exercises in the early days to help improve the puppy’s overall neurological development, leading to a more confident, adaptable, and well-rounded dog.
6. Personality Match: We take the time to get to know our adoptive families and to assess each puppy’s personality and work with you to match the right pup to your family. Whether you're looking for a playful companion, a calm lap dog, or a more active adventurer, we’ll help guide you to the perfect match for your lifestyle.
